Federal Right to Farm Legislation

If elected I will actively pursue federal legislation that would protect the right to farm. Such legislation would shield our farmers from frivolous lawsuits and would limit the ability of state Departments of Environmental Quality to attack our family farmers by requiring outrageous standards be met and excessive permits be obtained.

The 10th Amendment to the Constitution states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” This legislation would delegate the right to farm and earn a living to the people where it belongs.
